Nagshead
Grand oak woodlands and dramatic limestone cliffs await your class in the heart of the Wye Valley
Join us in the Forest of Dean where you'll find two adventures for the price of one: Symonds Yat Rock and Nagshead.
Nagshead is located in the heart of the Forest of Dean. This large, richly varied woodland attracts many different birds, providing a wonderful chance to compare and contrast wildlife and habitats.
The ecologically-friendly centre is built from timber from the forest and is full of interactive interpretation boards for your class to get their hands on.
Just 20 minutes away from Nagshead, Symonds Yat Rock is home to a dramatic viewpoint looking out over the steep valley of the River Wye.
Peregrines, buzzards and ravens nest in the limestone cliffs and can easily be observed during the summer when they are feeding their young.
A full-day can easily be split between the two reserves, and our programme of activities will get your pupils to work scientifically and develop new skills as they increase their knowledge of the environment.
We can also adapt our courses to meet your requirements and are happy to include additional subjects such as pollution, map work, conservation, and woodland resources and management.
Field teachers can also can come to your school for outreach visits. Please contact us to discuss your visit.
