Ynys-hir

Children will be enthralled by different wildlife in Welsh oak woodlands, saltmarsh and wet grassland

At the edge of the beautiful Dyfi estuary sits Ynys-hir nature reserve.

Bring your pupils here and they'll get to learn about a huge range of different habitats, including woodland, saltmarsh, freshwater ponds and grazed grassland.

The reserve is also full of breeding songbirds in spring, and attracts large numbers of ducks and geese in the winter. Red kites and peregrines can be seen all year.

We can also visit your school as part of our conservation and species education programmes.

I am always impressed when I come to Ynys-hir, and would not change anything!
