Scarecrow fun at RSPB Middleton Lakes

Last modified: 15 August 2012

Discovering bugs...

Families with children of all ages are invited to Middleton Lakes annual Scarecrow Day, on Bank Holiday Monday 27 August from 11 am – 3 pm.

There will be the opportunity for people to make their own scarecrow. Wooden frames, straw and expertise will be provided.

Visitors are encouraged to bring along some old clothes and accessories, such as silly hats and jazzy braces! Prizes will be awarded to the most original on the day.

The event is free of charge – although visitors are expected to bring plenty of imagination.

Other hands-on activities will include face painting, bug hunting and bog stomping in Middleton Lakes magical natural playground.

Chris Edwards, RSPB Visitor and Promotions Officer said “This will be a fabulous fun day, last year’s event was hugely enjoyed by all who came.”
