Nose-to-nose with nature at RSPB Sandwell Valley

The RSPB wants to get the community nose-to-nose with nature, celebrate local wildlife and have some real wild fun.

So far this summer, visitors to the nature reserve have come eye-to-eye with creepy crawlies, had some very close wildlife encounters and played detective to work out what owls have for tea.

There are more close-up encounter events to come, including making some furry mammal friends at ‘Meet the Mammal Day’ on 9 September and ‘Pond-dipping’ for mini-beasts on 15 and 16 September.

RSPB Sandwell Valley is passionate about connecting children and adults with nature, helping them to realise how amazing the creatures that live on their doorstep really are.

The reserve is free to access and exciting events are run regularly.
