Protecting wildlife sites |
Protecting wildlife sitesAlthough our most important wildlife sites are often protected by law, they still come under threat from a variety of sources - housing and transport developments, forestry proposals and even water abstraction. Every year, we comment on hundreds of proposals that could affect important places for birds. We negotiate changes where we can, as co-operation is better than conflict. With developers and decision makers we put back lost habitats, creating places for wildlife and for people to enjoy. Use the links below to see examples of cases across the UK we are working on, plus get information on how you can help protect sites near you from damaging development.
