Raising public awareness
Over 500,000 people visit the ten sites in the project each year.
Public awareness work promoting the importance of saline lagoons and the work of the project is undertaken at all the sites, except Reads Island where there is no visitor access.
The emphasis is on giving the public an understanding of the importance of saline lagoons through face to face contact at events through guided walks, fun days, illustrated talks and interpretive material at six sites.
