Travel green to our reserves
Reducing the impacts of climate change is everybody’s responsibility. Climate change is the biggest single threat to birds and other wildlife and transport accounts for around a quarter of the UK's energy use and carbon emissions - most of it from road vehicles (DTI, 2007). Transport has serious adverse effects on birds and other wildlife, both indirectly through climate change and directly, resulting in habitat loss and disturbance. Increasing the use of sustainable transport is key to reducing transport-related environmental impacts. Travelling to our reserves in a green way, instead of by car, is also a great way to help the environment, and improve your health. Browse our reserve pages and you'll find tips for getting to each site by public transport. What are we doingAs part of our campaign to Stop Climate Chaos, the RSPB has committed to reducing its carbon footprint. We have set ourselves a target to reduce carbon emissions by 3% per annum.
