Viewing points

Shipstal Trail: a viewpoint with panoramic views over Poole Harbour and parts of the reserve, a double-decker bird hide overlooking the salt marsh and water/mudflats of Arne Bay.

The Coombe Trail: a new low level bird watching screen looks over the eastern end of Middlebere Channel and out into the harbour.

Nature trails

Shipstal: there are a series of trails (ca 4 miles/6.5 km) around this part of the reserve - the distance from the car park to Shipstal Point directly is 1 mile/1.6 km. The Coombe Trail is around trip of 0.8 miles/1.2 km from the car park. Pushchair access is possible with a little care. Suitability for wheelchair access is limited - contact the reserve office for further information.
