Car parking
The car park is surfaced with crushed limestone and the disabled bays are 100m from the reception hide. The track over the sea wall is surfaced with crushed limestone and has gradients of 1:15 (42m) and 1:20 (16m). Visitors with limited mobility may drive to the reception hide.
Reception hide
The reception hide is accessed via a slight slope. The hide, which has information about the nature reserve, is on a split level. The upper level is reached via a 1:20 ramp. From this level a large picture window gives excellent views of the reedbeds.
Toilets
There is one adapted unisex toilet near the disabled car-parking bays.
Access to trails
There are 700 m of firm level paths surfaced with crushed limestone leading to five hides. The path to Ousefleet hide, which is 800 m from the reception hide, is partly surfaced with grass and is rough in places.
Hides
There are six hides on the reserve. All of them have removable bench seats to allow wheelchair access to the viewing windows. Help may be required. Semi-ambulant visitors can access the bench seats.
First hide is 90 m from the Reception hide and it accessed via a 1:20 rolled but rough stone ramp. Townend hide is 200 m from the Reception hide and is accessed via a 1:8 easing to 1:20 rolled but rough stone ramp. Singleton hide is 400 m from the Reception hide and is accessed via 1:20 stone ramp. Xerox hide is 140 m from the Reception hide and is accessed via a gentle 1:100 stone ramp. Marshland hide is 250m from the Reception hide and is accessed via a short 1:8 stone ramp. Ousefleet hide is 800 m from the Reception hide and is accessed via a 1:20 stone ramp.
