Roseate tern in flight

This important seabird colony is one mile off the Northumberland coast. No landing is possible on the island, but during the breeding season you can enjoy live images of nesting seabirds - including puffins and four species of terns - at the Northumberland Seabird Centre on Amble quayside. You can also get close-up views of the birds by taking a boat trip around the island on a charter boat licensed by us. RSPB members will receive a 10 per cent discount on the cost of the trip upon production of their membership card.

Opening times

The Seabird Centre is open daily: Monday to Friday, 10 am to 4.30 pm; Saturday, 10.30 am to 5 pm; Sunday, 10.30 am to 4.30 pm. Contact the charter boat company for details of trips around the island.
