About Culbin Sands

Oystercatcher flock at high tide roost, RSPB Snettisham reserve

Image: Andy Hay

Truly get away from it all at this remote and unspoilt reserve. Come during the winter and you'll see sea ducks feeding offshore, while from late summer to late spring, large numbers of bar-tailed godwits, oystercatchers and knots flock at high tide. Look out for our small flock of wintering brent geese.

Opening times

Open at all times.

Entrance charges

Free, but donations to help us continue our work here are welcome.

Information for dog owners

You can walk with your dog on any land in Scotland. We encourage responsible dog walking, and ask you to keep your dog close to you, preferably on a lead, especially between 1 April and 30 June, the season many birds nest on the ground.
