Dearne Valley - Old Moor |
Situated right at the heart of the Dearne Valley, Old Moor is a wonderful place to come and watch wildlife. The skies, fields and open water are teeming with birds throughout the year. Please noteOld Moor nature reserve has been nominated for an award as the Best Environment Project by the Heritage Lottery Fund. We have already reached the semi-finals, but to help us win, please vote for Old Moor by clicking on the button on the right of this page! Opening times1 November - 31 January: visitor centre open 9.30 am - 4 pm. Gates open until 4.30 pm. 1 February - 31 October: visitor centre open 9.30 am - 5 pm. Gates open until 5.15 pm. The site is closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Entrance chargesRSPB members free; adults £2.50; children £1.25; family ticket £5 (any number of children); concessions £2. Free access from Old Moor to Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council 'Passport to Leisure' and 'Rothercard' cardholders. |
