Drimore Farm is an important corncrake recovery area in South Uist. We work closely with the farm owner to try to create habitat suitable for corncrakes, but also to benefit a range of waders as well as non-bird species, such as the great yellow bumblebee.
The farm has a rich mosaic of habitats and a wide range of wildlife. Many aspects of how special this place is for wildlife is due to the continuation of traditional cattle farming which is sympathetic to the needs of wildlife. Drimore Farm is part of the Loch Drudibeg National Nature Reserve.
