About Fairy Glen

Markie Burn, RSPB Fairy Glen reserve

Image: Andy Hay

Walk by a fast stream and gleaming waterfalls in this wooded glen, looking for grey wagtails, dippers and buzzards. This beautiful steep-sided valley is an oasis of calm, but do take care as paths are rugged in places.

Opening times

Open at all times.

Entrance charges

None, but donations to help us continue our work here are welcomed.

Information for dog owners

Dogs are welcome under close control. You can walk with your dog on any land in Scotland. We encourage responsible dog walking, and ask you to keep your dog close to you, preferably on a lead, especially between 1 April and 30 June, the season many birds nest on the ground.
