Children pond dipping
Checking out what's in the pond

The RSPB field teaching scheme at Forsinard offers an exciting range of education programmes designed to bring the peatlands alive for you and your class.

Have you ever looked closely at the unique plants and animals that live in the very special peatlands at the heart of the Flows of Caithness and Sutherland? There are millions of insect-eating sundew plants, water beetles normally found in the Arctic Circle, rare birds and peat-building mosses, all waiting to be discovered.

When can we visit?

You can bring your class to Forsinard any weekday during term-time. Visits normally last three hours and can take place in the morning or afternoon. We are happy to schedule them around train arrival and departure times.

What should we bring?

You can bring a maximum of 30 pupils.
