Common darter dragonflies can be seen as late as November
Stay until dusk for a good chance of seeing barn owls hunting
The reeds take on a golden glow in the late afternoons

Stay quiet and you might get a glimpse of deer
Listen for flocks of small birds - tits, siskins and lesser redpolls - feeding in the trees
Late on, watch out for birds coming to roost, including reed and corn buntings
