Accessibility

The reserve car park is fully accessible by road vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians, with three disabled parking bays. The hard surfaced circular path around the reedbed (2 km) and the paths to all the hides are suitable for wheelchairs. Two of the three picnic benches are wheelchair-friendly.

The footpath from the car park to the sea bank is a mixture of asphalt and hardcore - it is suitable for wheelchairs. There is a choice of a ramp or steps up onto the sea bank at the end of the path.

The tops of the sea banks are part public footpath and part bridleway. A series of gates provide access along these banks. The bank condition can be muddy at times due to the weather and trampling by cattle, they are generally unsuitable for wheelchairs but motorised scooters are able to travel along the banks in dry conditions. The footpaths/bridleways are well signposted.

There are no particular hazards, except the intertidal saltmarsh (which the public are not encouraged to walk out on) can be dangerous due to tides, deep muddy creeks, isolation etc.
