About Ken-Dee Marshes

Red kite in flight

Image: Chris Gomersall

With stunning views across the River Dee and Loch Ken, this tranquil reserve plays host to many exciting winter visitors, including Greenland whitefronted and greylag geese. Spring is also an excellent time to visit, when redstarts and pied flycatchers fly in to join the resident willow tits.

There's a nature trail and two hides, so keep your eyes peeled and you might see otters, and if you look up you could well see a majestic red kite soaring in the sky.
