My third visit over the last six years, although my first in the month of May. This time I had the whole of the afternoon to explore and observe. I came to watch the Hobbies and boy did they perform well. Amazing birds in the most beautiful of surroundings, with an aural backdrop of booming bitterns and the exquisite Orioles song.
The wardens were very friendly, interested and informative. I liked Minsmere the day before...But I really, really, really loved Lakenheath Fen the day after.

Such a beautiful place! I saw more species of butterfly and dragonfly in one day than in the rest of summer put together! Looking forward to coming back to see how the reserve develops, and to see the orioles in the summer.

Myself and my wife have been visiting Lakenheath for the last 3 years but found this particular day more rewarding than any other time. We viewed 3 marsh harriers and lost count of the numbers of hobbies, but watching two male and one female golden orioles in one plantation and another female in the other plantation was really something else. What a marvellous way to spend a day!

A brilliant place! My first visit so didn't know what to expect. I have fallen in love with this place and will definitely be back. Saw 3 cranes- beautiful birds! The RSPB have created a wonderful reserve.
