Lake Vyrnwy was featured in BBC SpringWatch. Come and see this wonderful reserve yourself.
You should be able to see and hear pied flycatchers and redstarts, while dippers nest by the lake and rocky streams, great crested grebes and goosanders bob on the water, and above you ravens, buzzards and perhaps a peregrine soar in the skies.
You can enjoy these sights during a pleasant pace by cycling some or all of the lake perimeter that is just over 12 miles (19 km). It's a quite a flat route with little motor traffic. There are two outlets near the reserves which rent out bicycles.
