After reading the Strathy article about the geese gathering on the loch the previous week we thought we'd visit as dusk yesterday as we were up in Nethy Bridge for the weekend. Sorry to hear there were no sightings on the organised trip the previous Sat.
We feel even more honoured to have witnessed approx 100 fly overhead between 4 and 4.10pm. Just wish we'd remembered the binoculars! A lovely evening and the kids just loved it.
The Griffin Family
This is an absolute gem of a place to visit. The staff there are so helpful and their knowledge knows no bounds. Everyone immediately is included in the talk and the news of the day. It was wonderful to see EJ in all her glory, (pity not to have seen Odin whilst we were there but fully understand that after repeling intruders twice that morning, he needed a bit of a rest!).
It is now fantastic to be able to check the live link up and catch up with the news that two chicks have been born - oh happy days!
The rest of the viewing and the wildlife we saw was just magical. To be that close to red squirrels, siskins and a big woodpecker was just wonderful. Would recoomend this place to absolutely anyone. Well worth the admission fee.

Visited on Sunday 19 and Tuesday 21 July. What a truly emotional experience and once again proving how inspiring nature really is. We missed the excitement of Tuesday afternoon, however we can still keep an eye on the drama from this site now we are back home in East Lothian.

Love Loch Garten, it's a truly stunning place. We were there for the 50th anniversary of the ospreys - was a really good time. Wish I could work there, going again next year. I will be keeping an eye on the ospreys on the net from my home in Plymouth, I really miss Scotland.

We've been going to the Osprey Centre for the last four years and had been there a number of years previously. The centre is a credit to the RSPB - all the staff and especially to the stars, the birds. I came home and joined the RSPB on the strength of the work I have seen in the name of nature and saving all our wildlife.

We had planned a trip to Scotland so we could see the ospreys at Loch Garten. Odin & EJ obviously heard we were coming, and their first chick hatched that morning!! We saw both EJ and Odin on the nest and also saw Odin scare off an intruder osprey, which was very exciting. We were also lucky enough to see a capercaillie!
All in all an excellent few hours and well worth the journey from Kent. We look forward to watching the progress of the chicks over the coming few months on the webcam.

What a fantastic place. Staff are so friendly and informative. I am now glued to the live stream to await the arrival of the third chick, and watch them grow. Hopefully be back before the chicks fledge and EJ and Odin leave the nest. Thank you.

What a truly fantastic visit; not only did we see the chicks catch the first fish, but the staff on duty could not have been both kinder and more knowledgeable. We went with our teenage son who has learning disabilites and the time that was given to him so that he could see the birds really meant a great deal to us, and also to him as there has been a great deal of talk about the birds whenever anyone has asked him what he did on holiday. Thank you to all the team. We were convinced that joining the RSPB was a good idea, and we now agree.

Abernethy is an amazing place with wildlife everywhere you look, from common lizards and toads to capercaillies and crested tits. Loch Garten is a must for anyone with an interest in wildlife.

Since visiting your site and seeing EJ and Henry live I have avidly followed their lives every day on the internet. Being disabled and in a wheelchair i must thank the staff for the care taken while on my visit. Can't wait to come back.
