Marazion Marsh is one of the best places for wildlife in the UK.

Top things to do in Spring

  1. Listen for the chattering song of sedge warblers, just back from Africa
  2. Spot swallows and martins hawking for insects over the reeds
  3. See early flowering yellow irises around the water's edge

Top things to do in Summer

  1. Watch out for golden-ringed dragonflies and beautiful demoiselle damselflies along the Red River
  2. See dozens of rabbits basking in the sun in our seafront sanctuary area
  3. Spot our resident stonechat family at the front of the marsh

Top things to do in Autumn

  1. Autumn brings migrants from the north, so expect the unexpected!
  2. Check out the pools and muddy edges for little egrets and waders
  3. Look for wheatears, wagtails and pipits in the sanctuary area

  1. Watch out for bitterns flying over the reeds
  2. Check the reedbed edges for water rails
  3. Spot the herons as they start to build their nests in the reedbed
