Have been coming to Minsmere off and on for several years primarily for its location, peace and the welcome you get from all the volunteers. Decided not to chase any particular sighting but slowly wander to see what turned up.
Thought Island Mere hide had the best chance of a snipe. Alas no luck but treated to two bitterns flying left to right in quick succession! After 40 plus years of wildlife watching, my first bitterns! Minsmere remains special.

We have always wanted to visit Minsmere and finally got our chance. Being in the UK, it rained, but so what. We had a brilliant day and got to see a bttern, a great white egret and a stonechat. Looking forward to our next visit. Thanks to the helpful and friendly staff.

Thank you for a lovely day. The dragonflies were excellent.

This was our first visit to Minsmere. It certainly lived up to its reputation for being the crown jewel of RSPB reserves!
It's usually up to me to find a wader in the spotting scope and then its up to my husband to figure out what it is with the help of others or a book. We were a little confused as to what I had found, so we took a photo of it through the scope (I've yet to get the hang of digiscoping).
Upon returning to the shop to ask what it was, to our delight the photo was clear enough for several members of staff to identify it as a curlew sandpiper! Such a huge variety of birds all in one location, how lucky you are.

Visited the area and Minsmere for the first time. We saw a Stonechat on a bush near to the dunes. Wasn't sure what it was til we returned home (the visitors centre was shut when we came back). Fantastic place, keep up the good work.

My Mum and I had a fantastic day at Minsmere, the staff were so helpful. The Sandwich terns were hugely entertaining and the marsh harriers were beautiful. We will definitely be back!

As a disabled birdwatcher, I get very frustrated at not being able to get access to birdwatching areas. I visited minsmere for the first time and was treated absolutely fantastic, the staff were extremely helpful, there was a motorised wheelchair which enabled me to get around 90% of the paths, and the other bird watchers were fabulous. I was lucky to see a bittern in flight. Thank you to everyone, I'll certainly visit again.

A couple of weeks ago my partner and I attended the 'Birdwatching for beginners' walk. I just wanted to say it was brilliant. The leader was excellent-interesting, informative, patient and a wonderful guide. He has fuelled our enthusiasm!

We had a wonderful day, watching and walking. We were lucky enough to see a bittern, in the edge of the reeds and in flight. This was from the Bittern hide. We also saw several marsh harriers and numerous waterfowl and small birds.

Brilliant day out! I haven't been to Minsmere since I was a kid, so I took my girlfriend there (her first bird outing) and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The star of the show had to be the bittern which did a slow fly-by past the hide - amazing! Thanks to the RSPB guide who we met in the Bittern hide for his enthusiasm and info.
Andrew Marsh
A brilliant first visit! 20 minutes at the Island Mere hide was like a wildlife film. 4 Marsh harriers hunting over the reeds. A pair of crested grebes with 3 young (one riding on the back of its parent). Amazing! We'll be back soon.

We had a most wonderful day and it was a great introduction to birds for my Grandchildren. Thank you all for your help and patience during our visit. They can't wait to come back.

I came expecting a great reserve, and what did I get? An absolutely magical bird spectacle with fantastic views of many species and such a diversity of habitats and birds. We are DEFINITELY coming again.

We spent up to 9 hrs a day over the Bank Holiday at Minsmere and it was not long enough. So much to see, so well organised. Cafe incredibly cheap and food delicious. Staff and volunteers extremely helpful. Will definitely come again.
Jackie and Rod Langthorne
I had the most wonderful day with several lifetime firsts. There never seems to be enough time to do the reserve justice in a day. Thank you for a fabulous day.

The care and attention of your three field teachers made 40 Y3 children nature watchers for the rest of their lives: many thanks!

Minsmere is a beautiful area to visit at any time of the year and all times of the day. We try to visit as often as possible and each visit proves fascinatingly different. The birds and wildlife are quite amazing.

Myself and my father-in-law came from Australia, and we were not disappointed. Highlight was a wheatear on the path near the sluice. A GREAT DAY. THANKS.

I went with my partner who has for many years loved birds. I had never taken any interest. After nearly 3 hours, having heard and seen the nightingale, listened to the knowledge and enthusiasm of Heather (our RSPB guide), I came home joined the RSPB and visit Minsmere weekly (daily when possible). What more can I say but thank you Heather for showing me the world of birds. Oh, by the way I have even seen the bittern.
Paul Bidewell
Attended guided tour which was really excellent with fine weather, super birds and most important of all, skilled and inspiring leadership.
Philip Turney
Our first visit to Minsmere. We had a lovely day made by our first sighting of a bittern, and I have photos to prove it! Also saw the spotted redshank and Mediterranean gulls for the first time.
