About Nagshead

Male redstart carrying insects to nest

Woodland is worth exploring at any time, but spring at Nagshead is especially interesting. Wander along the trails
looking for pied flycatchers, redstarts and tits around the nestboxes, and watch the skies for ravens, buzzards and sparrowhawks. There are hawfinches and all three British woodpeckers in the woods all year round.

Information for families

Many events are aimed specifically at families, including the reserves open day. Additionally, RSPB/Forestry Commission jointly run Family Fun Days during summer months in wider Forest, including Symonds Yat Rock.

Information for dog owners

Dogs are only allowed on footpaths under the strictest control and on leads during the bird breeding season.
