Nearest railway station

Manea Station is 5 km from the reserve. Trains from Peterborough to Stansted Airport stop in Manea at 7.37 am and 5.42 pm, Monday - Saturday. Trains from Stansted Airport to Peterborough stop at 6.24 am and 6.16 pm, Monday - Friday, 6.21 am and 6.26 am on Saturdays. There are no trains to Manea on Sunday. All trains have to be requested to stop before leaving for Manea. From Manea station, head into the village then turn left down the road opposite the Rose and Crown pub. Turn left at the next T-junction towards Welches Dam, continuing to the signposted car park. March station is 14 km from the reserve. On arrival. take the A141 towards Chatteris then follow directions from there.

Nearest bus stop

Buses to Manea run Monday to Friday with four a day from March Fountain, 9.30 am, 10.42 am, 12.42 pm and 1.42 pm, arriving 20 minutes later. They leave Manea from the Rose and Crown at 10.03 am, 11.08 am, 1.08 pm and 2.08 pm, arriving at March Fountain 20 minutes later. The reserve is 2.5 miles (4 km) from the village - take the road opposite the Rose and Crown pub. Turn left at the next T-junction towards Welches Dam, continuing to the signposted car park.

By road

From the south and east head to Ely, take the A142 to Chatteris and follow signs to Manea. Entering the village, turn right at the RSPB sign towards Welches Dam, continuing to the signposted car park. From the west go to Chatteris, head towards Ely (A142) then follow directions above. From the north, head for March, take the A141 towards Chatteris then follow the signs for Manea. On reaching the village, turn right at the T-junction, then left opposite the Rose and Crown pub. Turn left at the next T-junction towards Welches Dam, continuing to the signposted car park.

Other ways to get to the reserve

By foot walk 4 km from Manea village, taking the road opposite the Rose and Crown pub, following signs to Welches Dam. Turn left at the next T-junction towards Welches Dam, continuing to the signposted car park. By plane the reserve is 90 minutes from Stansted airport - head for Ely and follow directions from there.
