Nature trails

A 4 mile (6.4 km) trail to the viewpoint across the island along a road. Restricted access for vehicles. The walk to Roonivoolin is a great way to see the south of the island. On the way, seals along the shore in Mill Bay don't object to being watched if you don't get too close. Oystercatchers and ringed plovers scurry about on the stony beaches. The entrance to Roonivoolin ('the place of the gulls') is marked from the road and the trail is signed, taking you out to the cliffs and guiding you back to the road again. Allow 2-3 hours to walk the Roonivoolin trail from the harbour and back.
