By train
Rye House Station (400 yards/366 m). Rye House is on the Hertford East Spur of the Cambridge to Liverpool Street line. Change at Broxbourne to access the spur, and alight at Rye House. Check connections on National Rail Enquiries website, or phone 08457 484950. The service is operated by 'one' Railway. Climb the steps out of the station and turn right towards Rye Meads, with the Historic Rye House Gatehouse on your left and Rye House Public House to your right.
Follow a footpath on the left side of the minor road for 300 m until you reach the visitor centre entrance. As you approach the centre, you will see the path is painted with colourful bird and animal tracks.
By bus
The nearest bus stop (700 yards/640 m) is in the Old Highway, which is off Rye Road. Walk down towards Rye House Station and over two bridges. Carry on down this path passing the Historic Rye House Gatehouse on your left and Rye House Public House to your right.

By road
From the A10:
NOTE: This route is only accessible for vehicles with axle weights less than 5T.
From the A10, take the Hoddesdon turning and head towards Hoddesdon, down the Dinant Link road (a dual carriageway). Go straight over the large roundabout (you will have the Sun pub on your left) onto another section of dual carriageway.
At the next roundabout, turn left into Essex Road. Turn left into a one-way system, Pindar Road, (before the railway crossing) and follow the road round. The one-way system leads back to Pindar Road. Turn left onto a bridge on Normandy Way.
Turn left into Fisherman's Way (a housing estate), follow this road until a T-junction. Turn right over the bridge. Follow this road (passing the Rye House Pub and the Lee Valley Gate House) until you see a large blue and yellow building - the Rye Meads Visitor Centre. The car park is through the big green gates by the electricity pylon.
From the B181:
NOTE: Buses and coaches should take this route. This route is via a toll with a charge of 50p.
From the B181, turn into the Toll Road, either a right turning if you are coming from Stanstead Abbotts, or left if you are coming from Roydon.
Follow this road towards the sewage works and the 50p toll (50p, 20p and 10p pieces are accepted). About 150 yards past the toll, you will see a big blue and yellow building on your right. The car park is right by the electricity pylon through the big green gates. Look out for brown duck signs.
