Car parking
The car parks (closed on Mondays) are accessed via a tarmac road, which has some severe 'sleeping policemen'. The upper car park has spaces for 30 vehicles.
Toilets
The nearest toilets are at Forge Mill Farm (tel: 0121 588 7210)
Access to trails
Two paths lead around the reserve; all are mostly surfaced with rolled stone. There is one stretch of 1:20 gradient with no level rest places. The rest of the paths are level.
Viewpoints
Viewpoints around the reserve have been designed to maximise visitor experience. Viewing screens have slots at various heights. The Lakeside hide is 415 m from the upper car park and is staffed by knowledgeable volunteers. The path has a gradient mostly less than 1:20, and there are a number of benches along the way.
The Marsh screen is 300 m from the upper car park and is reached on a rolled stone path which slopes gently down towards the reedbed.
