Railway crossing
Visiting Strumpshaw Fen requires crossing a railway line at the entrance. Please use the pedestrian gates to cross the line and look carefully to make sure no trains are coming before crossing. Children should be supervised closely. If you are infirm or have mobility difficulties, please avoid crossing alone or use the phone at the gate to check with the signal operator that no trains are coming. Please also use the phone before crossing if you are visiting as a large group and will take time to cross.
Nature trails
Accessibility of trails varies with weather - wheelchair users are advised to contact the reserve to check trail conditions before visiting.
Some of the nature trails involve crossing a railway line or have steps or styles. Please phone or email in advance if you would like more information about trail accessibility (01603 715191 or Strumpshaw@rspb.org.uk).
