Print pageAbout Tollie Red Kites
With stunning views across Easter Ross to Ben Wyvis, Tollie Red Kites provides close-up views of our most graceful bird of prey. A team of volunteers feed the birds every day and you can watch them feed from the comfort of a specially-converted farmstead building.
Tollie Red Kites is a partnership between RSPB Scotland and the Brahan Estate.
We're pleased to announce that we've now got a composting toilet.
Opening times
The visitor centre is open from 9 am to 5 pm but there is open access to the outdoor viewing screens. Food is put out daily by a team of local volunteers. Feeding time is 2.30 pm in summer (BST) and 1.30 pm in winter (GMT).
Entrance charges
It's free, though donations to meet the running costs are very welcome.
If you are new to birdwatching...
The visitor centre has a fully glazed gable-end, so you can get excellent views of the feeding table. Other windows let you get close-up views of smaller birds using feeders. A viewing screen outside gives great opportunities for taking photographs.
Information for families
Pencils and crayons and drawing paper are available for children in the centre.
Information for dog owners
Dogs are allowed anywhere but should be kept on a lead. They should not be allowed into neighbouring fields.
