Are you passionate about saving the planet?
Do you think nature is amazing and want to keep it that way?
Are you interested in helping wildlife and getting paid for It too?
Are you an enthusiastic person who enjoys meeting new people?

If you can answer yes to the above questions then a role within RSPB Fundraising Direct might be for you. The RSPB is no stranger to face-to-face activity. Back in Victorian times it was one of the first street campaigning organisations. More recently, the RSPB has evolved this form of community campaigning into recruiting new members to the charity through face-to-face engagement on RSPB nature reserves, at country fairs, farmers' markets and most recently at private sites like shopping centres and supermarkets. In April 2009 the RSPB embarked on a mission to bring their private site face to face fundraising under their own wing to ensure that all of the money received from our members goes directly into the charity. Since 2009 we have been highly successful in growing our operations from a small team of fundraisers working in London, in to a team covering the South of England. We are currently recruiting for field fundraisers who are able to discuss the work of the RSPB with members of the general public at private sites such as supermarkets, shopping centres, garden centres, farmers markets and anywhere else people may be. If you have the drive and determination to exceed and have experience talking to members of the general public alongside a can-do attitude we want to hear from you. Our extensive training programme based at one of our 200+ reserves gives you the opportunity to experience where the RSPB spends donations to allow you to talk confidently and with experience about the work which we do. You will learn about the current campaigns we are supporting including Save the Tropical Rainforest Project, Saving Species - Albatross Taskforce, Saving places for nature, Hope Farm and the Marine Bill. We also provide full training of what it means to fundraise for the RSPB. This coupled with our on-going mentoring and coaching ensures our fundraisers are highly skilled and informed about the work of the RSPB. We're offering a market leading package that includes between £65 And £85 per day guaranteed basic, up to £60 commission per membership (available from your first shift), travel expenses and the most up to date RSPB materials to help you engage with the public. It is a highly exciting time in RSPB Fundraising Direct and we are planning another year of growth in 2012. This means we will be operating in new territories which will no doubt lead to fantastic progression and re-location opportunities. If you are interested in applying for the role please complete the attached application form and return it to recruitment@rspb.co.uk or contact our HR and Recruitment Manager Dylan Moorcraft on 01273 704879 if you have any questions.

RSPB Fundraising Direct are a team of fundraisers whose role is to support the work of the RSPB by gaining new members at private sites, e.g. supermarkets, shopping centres and garden centres.
The RSPB is no stranger to face-to-face fundraising activity.

We are currently looking to add a new member to our events team to contact relevant retail outlets and other private sites to book locations for our fundraisers.

You will be working from a call list contacting relevant decision makers within stores and persuading them to allow us in to recruit. Some sites for example shopping centres charge a fee for the use of their space some negotiation is also required.

The role will be based from home with occasional requirement to travel to our Head Office in Hove. Although working from home on a daily basis you will need to be in regular contact with our Events Manager to adapt to the ever-changing environment we work in.
In order to be successful in the role you must be able to demonstrate the following abilities and experience.

Self-Management - Previous experience of working independently and hitting deadlines.
Reliability
Administration
Account management / relationship building
Business to business telephone experience essential
Letter writing
Microsoft office
Internet
Fundraising Experience a distinct advantage.
If you feel you have the relevant skills please complete the attached application form and return it to recruitment@rspb.co.uk
