School visits to reserves

'Quality teaching. Ideal for the study of contrasting environments - we will definitely revisit

Chalford Hill Primary School

The RSPB field teaching scheme, Living Classrooms, is an exciting programme of school visits designed to bring learning to life. Your pupils will be able to explore nature for themselves by studying at first hand the birds, animals and plants on nature reserves. Led by RSPB field teachers, the whole and half-day visits are designed to encourage curiosity and the process of discovery among pupils, through safe, hands on activities.

Activities

We offer programmes suitable for all ages, from reception through to A level groups. Activities are linked to the National Curriculum.

  • Magic minibeasts
  • Comparing habitats
  • Environmental threats
  • Water, wildlife and people
  • The changing seasons

Benefits

Visits encourage curiosity and the process of discovery among all pupils. All sites and activities are fully risk assessed, and staff are fully trained.

  • Get out in the fresh air
  • Discover nature
  • Hands on activities
  • Learn new skills
  • Unforgettable experiences
