We want to make this a reserve for all seasons.
We'll be using cattle to 'mow' the wet grassland and turn it into the the kind of tussocky ground that's perfect if you're a lapwing looking for somewhere to nest. We also expect to increase the number of breeding curlews, snipe and redshanks.
As a fantastic site for wild flowers - an eighth of all the UK's flowering plant species grow here - we'll be doing all we can to preserve and improve this richness.
We'll also be looking to create the best habitat for frogs and water voles, and to create the right conditions for otters to frolick at the water's edge, and brown hares to box in the fields.
We want to share this incredible place with as many people as possible. We'll be providing access and getting you as close to the wildlife as possible without disturbing it.
