Collection boxes

Supporter making a donation into collection box

Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves... Collection boxes work on this principle: capturing small change which adds up to significant amounts.

We need people, based in the UK, to place collection boxes in suitable locations and look after them for us. If you feel you can place and look after a collection box, please contact us for more details – just fill in the online form ‘Tell me more about how to fundraise for wildlife’ (click on the link below).

There are two main types of RSPB collection box – the most suitable location and frequency of maintenance will depend on the type of box.

  • Counter-top boxes. These durable and robust plastic boxes can be placed on shop, pub or restaurant counters.
  • Cardboard collection box. The pyramid loose change box is a simple yet effective way of saving all of that spare and often unwanted loose change in the home or workplace. Simply place your coins in the box, and when full, follow the instructions set out on the bottom panel. Your donation, however small, is vital in assisting our conservation work.
Remember, small change can make a big difference and will enable us to continue working to save birds, wildlife and the environment.
