Children and fundraising

Girls enjoying the woodlands
A sponsored walk is a great way to raise money for the RSPB

If you are under 16 years old, are based in the UK and would like to fundraise for the RSPB (which can be really good fun) you must have the permission of your parents or another responsible adult.

The two main ways younger supporters can fundraise for us are by doing some sort of sponsored activity or by taking part in an annual fundraising appeal.

Most of the other events detailed on our fundraising pages aren’t aimed at under 16s. So if you’re under 16 and want to fundraise for us, please ask your parent or guardian to contact us for advice – they can use our online form – see the link ‘Tell me more about how to fundraise for wildlife’on this page.

Sponsored activities

These can be a great way to find out something new and make new friends – not to mention a chance to do something really exciting!

Appeals

Every year RSPB Wildlife Explorers and RSPB Phoenix members take part in a major fundraising appeal. This raises money for important conservation work. For example, in 2003, children and young people raised over £14,000 to help tree sparrows. You don’t need to be a member to take part in these appeals.

Our current appeal is about helping albatrosses that are close to the brink of extinction because of poor fishing methods. To find out more, please click on the link on this page. Alternatively, contact RSPB Wildlife Explorers.
