Importance of legacies to the RSPB
If birds and nature enrich your life, please consider the RSPB in your Will. Hundreds of RSPB supporters do so every year. We are tremendously grateful to these people, without whose generosity and forethought we would not be able to continue with our work. For instance, the acquisition and expansion of reserves continues to be helped by legacies. Consider Pulborough Brooks, one of the RSPB's most popular nature reserves. It was bought in 1992 with the help of a bequest by Winifred Smith Wright, who lived much of her life overlooking this beautiful river valley. Protecting the wild birds and countryside you care about - for ever Winifred wanted the brooks restored as she remembered them from her childhood. The generous terms of her Will enabled this to happen. Pulborough Brooks is now full of birds, just as Winifred remembered. This heartening story is replicated across the country, thanks to the forethought and generosity of our legacy donors. Income from legacies is also used for the full range of the RSPB's work away from reserves. |
