Trails in Wales

Dipper on rock with insects in beak
The dipper is just one of the exciting birds to be seen on the trails.

The RSPB has produced a new publication, Trails in Wales, containing evocative and stimulating walks through some of the most breathtaking scenery in Wales.

Each walk has been specially selected for its abundance of birdlife, ranging from red kites and choughs to dippers and Cetti’s warblers - and there is plenty of other wildlife to look out for, too.

The six walks are graded according to their level of difficulty and there is one to suit all ages and abilities. Each has a detailed route map showing top spots for wildlife.

The trails are:

  • Borth to Aberystwyth cliff trail
  • Llyn Crafnant Trail
  • Llyn Mair trail
  • Rhossili coastal trail
  • Mawddach trail
  • Teifi river trail

The entire booklet can be downloaded using the links to the right. The walks can be downloaded individually, so that you can print off the details of your chosen walk to take along with you.

You can also order the booklet from the RSPB's Cardiff Office on 029 2035 3000.

We hope you enjoy ‘Trails in Wales’.

Please note: the numbers on the map for the Llyn Crafnant trail do not correspond with the text. Number one on the map should be at the top end of the lake near the picnic bench with number 2 being next to Cynllwyd and number 3 being at Comel etc. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
