Why we want you
Residential volunteers assist with estate management and maintenance of the visitor facilities. Survey and monitoring work in spring and summer with duck and geese counts and monitoring and moving of cattle in the winter.
Additional opportunities to take part in or lead public events on the reserve.
Survey and monitoring is carried out throughout the year, as is cattle and water level management.
What’s in it for you?
During your stay, you will become a member of the reserve management team with free accommodation. Appropriate training will be be given. You will contribute to practical conservation and learn about running and managing a nature reserve.
This is an excellent chance to make a genuine contribution to wildlife conservation. You will gain a valuable insight into the workings of Europe's largest conservation charity.
The skills you need
Enthusiasm, ability to work as part of a team, interest in conservation and ability to work outside in all weathers.
Driving license essential. Minimum age 18 and the time to stay for a minimum of six months.
