This is a vital way to raise valuable funds to assist RSPB Cymru's nature and wildlife conservation work. Your time and skills could make a real difference; one volunteer can raise £1,000 a year. Nature is amazing; help us keep it that way!

As well as working independently, you'll get to meet new people and work as part of an exciting and expanding team. The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe! We can help you gain experience and give you a valuable insight into our work and the conservation charity sector.
Appropriate training will be provided and even though the post is unpaid expenses will be reimbursed where necessary.

The skills you need

Self-motivated person with a positive attitude and secretarial skills. Experience is to include computer literacy; good working knowledge of the Office packages, (with Excel as an essential criteria), confidence in using the Internet and Outlook, good telephony and written skills. Accuracy and attention to detail are also important. An interest in conservation issues and an ability to speak Welsh would be useful but not essential, whereas a sense of humour is!
A volunteer is required to assist the Community Fundraising team at RSPB Cymru HQ in Cardiff with a variety of primarily administration based tasks. You will mainly be aiding the Senior Community Fundraiser on a variety of projects, but also may from time to time be involved in work with the Community Fundraiser too. General examples of tasks will include the production of mailings using Mail Merge, filing and record keeping, photocopying and undertaking internet research. You will also be required to be involved in projects that include elements of telemarketing and contact with the general public through written letters and email.
