Rye Meads
Why we want you
Nectar is the base food of life! It is needed in many varieties to encourage a wide range of invertebrates to thrive at Rye Meads. These nectar feeders in turn provide vital food sources to creatures higher up the food chain, typically birds, which breed at the site. In order to create a diverse range of nectar sources, we need to have a mosaic of grass and shrub habitats that encourage different plants to grow. Your team will help to create this mosaic by managing our vegetation.
What’s in it for you?
RSPB Team Challenge offers an unusual and cost-effective alternative to the myriad of outdoor 'corporate training' days now on offer. Your employees will join regular RSPB staff at one of the RSPB's top nature reserves and become 'Wardens' for a day - making a real contribution to wildlife conservation while working as a team and having fun.
The skills you need
Team Challenges are muddy and energetic, but that's all part of the fun! We will provide supervision and any tools or materials necessary to complete the task (unless obtaining them is part of the challenge!). A team of up to 20 enthusiastic volunteers are needed for a fun day out. You will need heavy-duty gloves, safety boots, old clothes, waterproofs, sun cream/hats if hot and packed lunches with plenty of drinking water
Your time
Minimum commitment: 1 day

Notes
Your help makes a direct impact on the work of the reserve and we are grateful for your contribution in this way. We do also ask for a donation to cover the cost of organising and equiping team challenges of a minimum of £25 per head.
The RSPB speaks out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment. We rely upon memberships and donations to fund our work. By volunteering your time and skills, you could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB. Nature is amazing - help us keep it that way.
