Print pageTelephone and social media volunteer, office based - are you a great people person?'
South East England Regional Office
Why we want you
In order to save tropical forests we desperately need NGOs, businesses and governments to work together to protect the areas that are left - and Tesco agrees. Tesco and the RSPB have joined forces to launch an exciting new partnership: Together For Trees. For more information on this please visit: www.togetherfortrees.com
On the weekend of the 21st-22nd of September the RSPB have been invited to carry out a collection at 110 different Tesco stores. To put this into perspective - if we had 2 volunteers covering each hour (16 hours over 2 days) in every store, raising an average of £15 per hour each, we could raise a whopping £52,800!
But to achieve that we need 700 volunteers to take part. That's why we need you. We will be using numerous different recruitment techniques to attract new volunteers- through online advertisement, some use of social media and most importantly - telephoning existing RSPB members. Don't worry though, this wont be telesales! Just an informal chat to see if members would like to get involved.
You will then assist with the correspondence via email to 'Together For Trees' collecting volunteers - ensuring they receive the support they need to carry out their role.
What’s in it for you?
Tropical forests are home to 6 million species, including some of the world's most enigmatic and endangered wildlife. They provide food, water and medicines, and act as carbon stores to help in the fight against climate change. In this role you will be a part of a fantastic campaign to save some of the worlds most special places.
You will gain valuable skills in volunteer recruitment and management and be a part of the largest conservation charity in Europe. It is a great opportunity to gain experience in office based administration and will be an excellent addition to your CV.
