Supporter Events Executive - Marketing, The Lodge

Why we want you

To provide the Community Marketing Development team support in delivering a programme of supporter events essential to retaining and developing support for RSPB conservation projects in the UK and overseas, taking specific responsibility for detailed aspects of these events as required. The role helps deliver inspiring and informative events for regular donors, majors donors, pioneers, and appeal donors who together deliver substantial support for RSPB work.

Organisation of the supporter event programme runs all year round and you would be getting involved in parts or all of the below:

a) Undertake specific tasks to support the delivery of events such as Friends of the Lodge, Hope Farm Founders days, Saving Our Rainforests, Meet the Albatross Taskforce and Sea Life Guardians events.
b) Assist with the preparation of event project briefings.
c) Research venues and supplier pricing and suitability. Advise and support negotiation with venues and suppliers. Advise on catering and other facilities.
d) Liaison with reserve and other conservation teams involved in Supporter Event delivery
e) Assist with the invitation communications process and creative delivery working in conjunction with membership services and other teams.
f) Liaise with internal teams regarding invitation activity, process, enquiries and communications with supporters attending events.
g) Attend and help out at Supporter Events around the UK including venues such as RSPB Bempton Cliffs, RSPB The Lodge, RSPB Ramsey Island, and Kew Gardens.
h) Assist in collating event feedback, evaluation, and review.

There is a flexibility within this role and volunteers are not obliged to take part in all elements. You will be working within a team and with colleagues experienced in delivering the supporter event programme. You may also have the opportunity to get involved in special projects and development work.

The skills you need

An organised and enthusiastic person with good communication Skills. Skilled in use of outlook, word. and internet. Basic excel use.

Please note: This role is based at RSPB HQ in Sandy, Bedfordshire
Closing date for applications: Monday 1st July
Interview dates: 8th and 9th July
Appropriate training will be provided and expenses will be re-imbursed where necessary.
