Why we want you
We are looking for out-going and enthusiastic volunteers to help organise and run educational events and wildlife activities for visitors and schools to inspire children and their families about the Ribble estuary reserves and the birds and animals that live there.
Tasks would include:
Planning and running educational activities and events.
Maintaining and enhancing links with local schools.
Promoting and developing our educational visit programme.

The RSPB is an exciting nature conservation charity, the largest in Europe, you will be the face of the reserve to local children, teachers and parents and thereby helping to raise funds and awareness for the vital conservation work carried out by the society.
The skills you need
We are looking for enthusiastic, personable individuals with the ability to communicate with people of all ages, and abilities. Some wildlife knowledge would be beneficial but is by no means essential. A passion for the work of the RSPB and our reserves is!
Key skills required include:
- excellent face-to-face and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable and confident around children.
- a friendly and approachable manner is a definite asset as well as the ability to enthuse about the work of the RSPB.
- good team working and networking skills.
- a genuine interest in wildlife and nature conservation.
Your time
Minimum commitment: One day per month, weekends required
Duration: Ongoing
