The Nature of Scotland Awards are designed to recognise and celebrate excellence, innovation and outstanding achievement in Scottish nature conservation.

Scotland is renowned worldwide for its beautiful wild places and abundant wildlife. We must work hard to preserve this precious natural heritage, celebrating success stories and protecting that which is under real threat.

The Nature of Scotland Awards 2016 are now closed for nominations. We received an exceptional calibre of entries this year. The judging panel have tough decisions ahead and the shortlisted entries shall be announced at a reception on the 6th of September at Scottish Parliament.

The 2016 Nature of Scotland Awards will take place on Thursday, 24 November at the prestigious Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh. Guests will enjoy a memorable evening which will include a drinks reception, three-course dinner and awards presentation.

The 2016 awards will be hosted by BBC wildlife presenter Chris Packham. During the evening, guests will learn more about those who have reached the shortlist and find out who the winners are.

In November 2015, we were delighted to host the fourth year of the Awards, which recognised the very best efforts made for the benefit of nature conservation in Scotland. The challenges involved in protecting and nurturing Scotland’s special places and iconic species are ever more pressing.

Find out who our winners and finalists were in 2015 and get a flavour of the event by viewing a selection of photographs from the award ceremony.

Good luck to this year's participants and a big thank you to our sponsors and supporters!
