The RSPB has persuaded the Government to include skylark plots in a wildlife scheme for farmers.
If the farmers make their land better for wildlife, the Government gives them some money to pay for it. The Government has promised to stop numbers of farmland birds falling by the year 2020.
The RSPB is talking to farmers too, telling them about the problems for skylarks and other farmland birds and how they can help.
When farmers see the magic of skylarks for themselves, they often want to get involved. With enough support, the RSPB is confident that numbers of skylarks will increase.
