Nature notebook competition 2008

Boy and bee

Have hours of fun keeping a nature diary this summer and then enter it for our competition.

We are asking your to watch and record wildlife on at least 10 days.

You can do it where you live, on your holidays or perhaps when you stay with your relatives.

Write about what you see, and perhaps try drawing or photographing it.

You can fill your notebook with things you've noticed about birds, insects, flowers, trees or any other wildlife.

As your notebook fills up, you can look back and compare what you saw on different days, in different seasons and even in different years.

You might ask yourself; when did the leaves start to turn brown? When did I see the first house martin? What time of day do I see the most butterflies?

If you keep a nature notebook, you will soon start to find out and ask questions of your own.
