Get exploring the Mersey Valley this spring with free wildlife events

RSPB Northern England

Monday 21 May 2018

Spring has sprung and there’s lots going on this half term to get families out discovering the wonderful wildlife of the Mersey Valley.

The RSPB and Manchester City Council are running free, drop-in, Wild Challenge events at Chorlton Water Park and Fletcher Moss, where families are invited to take part in Spring Wild Bingo, see what minibeasts they can discover and make some colourful insects to take home.

Both events are free and families can drop-in any time from 10am–3pm – look out for the event hub under the blue gazebo.

As part of Transport for Greater Manchester’s Walking Festival, the RSPB are also running free guided wildlife walks at both venues. The walks will take participants through a range of habitats to look out for birds, bees and butterflies, and children will be provided with activities to take part in along the way.

Both walks start at 10am and will last around 2 hours. The walks are buggy accessible and suitable outdoor clothing and footwear should be worn. Booking is not required - for more information, please visit
