The Orkney Nature Festival is set to reach its fifth birthday this spring, with dates for 2017 announced as Monday 15 to Sunday 21 May.
The popular format sees a variety of community groups, businesses and individual volunteers around Orkney come together to offer a programme of events in celebration of the county's remarkable natural heritage.
Coordinated by the local RSPB Scotland team, the Festival has previously attracted up to 1,000 participants with activities including snorkelling, photography and spectacular wildlife cruises aboard NorthLink Ferries' MV Hamnavoe.
Details of last year's programme may be found at www.orkneynaturefestival.org, with the programme for 2017 expected to be confirmed in early spring.
