We congratulate Sir David Henshaw on his appointment as interim Chair of Natural Resources Wales. He arrives at a critical moment for nature in Wales, leading the team responsible for making good on the Welsh Government’s commitments to our countryside and seas. Within NRW, he must champion the needs of nature in the face of funding cuts and the impact this will have on NRW’s ability to provide timely and high quality ecological advice.

Earlier this year, NRW published ‘Vital Nature’, its roadmap for nature recovery in Wales. Everyone in Wales who cares about our wildlife, landscapes, sealife and marine habitats will be looking to NRW’s new chair, Sir David Henshaw to ensure that over his 12 month tenure all of NRW’s work, including flood management, waste, farming and forestry, achieves the vision ‘Vital Nature’ describes, and restores wildlife in Wales.
