About

With stunning views across Easter Ross to Ben Wyvis, Tollie Red Kites provides close-up views of this graceful bird of prey.

Red Kites were reintroduced to north-east Scotland after being absent for decades, and they're the star of the show here. See volunteers feed the birds every day from a specially-converted farmstead building.

Food is put out for the Red Kites every day from Wednesday - Sunday by a team of local volunteers. Feeding time is at 2:00pm, however we recommend arriving at 1:45pm.

The visitor centre has a fully glazed gable-end, so you will be able to get excellent views of the feeding table. Other windows let you get close-up views of smaller birds using feeders. A viewing screen outside gives great opportunities for taking photographs, and there's also a wildlife garden and chilren's acitvities to explore.

Once the Red Kites have had their fill, head into the woods for a gentle stroll among Scottish woodland wildlife. Great Spotted Woodpeckers are common around Tollie, while Whitethroats can be spotted between spring and early autumn. Plus, keep your eyes skyward in case Ospreys fly overhead!
